Animals swept the Midwest Independent Film Festival's annual Best of the Midwest Awards this evening. The film was nominated for six awards and ended up nabbing "Best Actor" (David Dastmalchian), "Best Director" (Collin Schiffli), and "Best Feature." Schiffli attended the ceremony, which took place at Underground in Chicago and was packed with film and television professionals, including the cast of NBC's Chicago Fire.
