Animals won the coveted "Audience Choice" award at the Chicago Critics Association's 2nd annual Chicago Critics Film Festival. The film was the closing night feature and beat out stiff competition, as two-thirds of the showcased titles scored 4.25 or higher on a 5-point scale. Director Collin Schiffli, writer/star David Dastmalchian, and executive producers John W. Bosher & Chris Charles were in attendance for the sold out screening and Q&A at the historic Music Box Theatre.
