Since its inception in 2012, Throughline Films has helped dozens of film and television projects come to fruition and realize their potential by successfully bridging the gap between art and business. Its network of writers, talent, financiers, vendors, festival programmers, distributors, sales agents, attorneys, publicists, and press has everything needed to foster wide-ranging content from development through distribution.
Development & Production
Throughline develops, finances, and produces marketable feature film and television content with a focus on blending production value and cost efficiency. In 2021 the partners co-founded Very Merry Entertainment to develop and produce family-friendly Christmas films.
Sales & Distribution
Throughline offers producer representation services to secure worldwide distribution for a limited number of titles each year, allowing the partners to provide clients with the focus and bespoke approach they deserve.
Throughline also offers consultation services with extensive experience in development, casting, film incentives, production, product placement, completion funding, post-production, sales and distribution, delivery, collection accounts and residuals, IMDb optimization, film festivals, sponsorships, and marketing and promotions.
Having written, produced, and directed their own films for the past 20 years, Throughline partners John W. Bosher and Chris Charles approach each project from the filmmaker’s perspective and pride themselves on their Midwestern work ethic and integrity. After graduating with honors from Columbia College Chicago, they produced the acclaimed mafia thriller Chicago Overcoat, which sold to Showtime, 20th Century Fox, and Netflix. John and Chris also produced We Are Columbine, a heartfelt documentary about four survivors of the infamous school shooting who return to the campus 20 years later to share their experiences and journeys toward healing. Their crime drama The Cleaner, starring Shelley Long, Luke Wilson, and Lynda Carter, is currently streaming on Hulu.
